“A wonderful stay”

This 2nd floor apartment is situated in Lehon beside a peaceful stone bridge over a quiet river. It is a short winding walk (25 mins) along the river’s edge to the Port of Dinan. There’s only one local fine dining restaurant in Lehon called the Le Marmite D’ Abbaye. Fantastic for an evening dinner out and located literally right around the corner from the apartment. Lehon was a great base for our 5 night stay. We travelled day trips all over Brittany from there. Wifi access was solid and host communication was absolutely first-rate. Highly recommended.

Not recognizable was, although moderate, through traffic on the small, romantic bridge, because the street is separated only a few meters from the outdoor area in front of the apartment. The front garden very well maintained – compliments to the invisible housekeeper – thanks!

The apartment is located on the river – for romantics, painters and athletes. Jogging to the harbour on the riverbank. A small swimming pool nearby. An Abbey with castle garden and garden restaurant. Dinan is wonderful for hiking, discovering art and drinking wine. Dinard 30 minutes away, a super beach!! Very British. TV only British and stylish decor!

“Everything here that we needed”

Our lodgings were on the first floor, no lift, but wide stairs. Wonderful outlook to the River Rance and an idyllic 2km walk along the river to Dinan Port. Many walkers and cyclists and few cars through the area, but no noise at all. Short drive to a supermarket in Dinan and a short drive to Lanvallay where there is a washer/dryer facility at the local supermarket. There is a washing machine at the unit which is shared with other units, as is the hairdryer and ironing board. It worked well for us.

“We had a lovely week in Léhon“

The village is very pretty and only a 30 minute walk to the Port of Dinan and it’s many restaurants. The apartment has everything we needed, although with no AC it may be a bit hot for some people in midsummer. The gardens are well-tended and a great space to have available.

“Great area to visit”

Lehon is a beautiful small village on traditional lines. Wonderful walks along the river to Dinan which is a historical centre in its own rights. Try cycling and the river trips and don’t forget to climb the hill to the centre and visit the castle. There is so much to do you won’t have time for it all, but do try a day trip to the coast and enjoy the wide-open sandy beaches and more castles than you can shake a stick at. Never got to St. Malo so that’s a good reason to come back!

The apartment is as beautiful as described and as in the photos. We felt very well. Léhon is a good starting point for trips to the coast. We were only there for three days and would have liked to stay longer. In the neighborhood there is an outdoor pool.

Great location in a lovely village, 20 to 30 minutes walk to Dinan along the riverside path. We used it as a base to visit places such as Cap Frehel, Dinard, Mont Saint-Michel and Fougeres, all within an easy drive. The apartment is on the top floor with views over the river and garden. It is well equipped with a good-sized kitchen/lounge, two large bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) and a good-sized bathroom (shower) it is nicely furnished and decorated. Very good communication from the owners and it was easy to gain access via secure key box. There is off-street parking next to the garden, however during busy periods this could be difficult and you may need to park opposite.

“The apartments are so roomy, comfortable and well equipped”

My wife and I stayed in Monet for two weeks and enjoyed what felt like a very relaxing stay. We rarely return to the same place for holidays however this is the fourth time we have taken a break at Val Rive. The apartments are so roomy, comfortable and well equipped that a visit here feels like returning home! The close proximity of Dinan, Dinard, the coast and the countryside surrounding the River Rance encourages walking and we estimate that we covered over 100 miles on foot during the fortnight there. A number of supermarkets are a short drive away and we found the fruit, vegetables and meat on sale to be of superior quality to that found locally at home in the UK. Another benefit of staying in or near Lehon is the Marmite restaurant which is within about 100 metres from Val Rive. The food is wonderful and the fixed price menu very affordable.

Our final comment is of the enjoyment of watching day visitors, runners, bikers and hikers arriving in the village by the narrow river bridge and stopping to take photographs and otherwise enjoy the views.

“Well placed for walking and historical sites“

If you like history, this is the place to stay. If you like walking, you can combine the two interests. Half an hour’s walking takes you to the centre of Dinan or along the river Rance to Dinan’s port area. Lots to see and plenty of places to enjoy a coffee or a beer or a great meal. Near enough to the Brittany coast to dip your toes into the sea.

Location was fantastic. The caretaker was exceptionally helpful.

Being at the edge of town meant there were no parking issues and we had easy access to anywhere we wanted to go – by car, bike or on foot. The walk along the towpath into the old port is fantastic. The cottage was perfect for our family of four, and the surrounding area exceptional. Dinan is by far the best town we have visited in 20 years of going to Europe!
